I'm using my equipment pack to store shields atm...
I have +10 vs slashing (for tanking in FoW & Urgoz), +10 vs cold (wastes, those avalanches when I'm running to the keg farm), +10 vs. lightning (lightning forest in FoW, charged in UW), +10 vs. earth (tanking in Foundry), +10 vs. demons (other parts of DoA), +10 vs. piercing (traps while in mtns), +10 vs. fire (wastes again, FoW burning forest etc) and a 20% reduce crippling shield (when I run pits or plains & dont take IAU with me, in UW).
It is convenient because I swap shields a LOT (sometimes 2-3 shields in a matter of a few minutes) so having them all lined up in the inventory in a separate pack kind of helps. I'm working on getting myself the 20 slot inventory pack thing, because then I can carry my Blessed, Survivor, Radiant armor sets along with my shields, which makes armor swapping in DoA & Urgoz etc a lot easier.

Agreed the requirements for z-rewards are way to high. I work during the week so only really get to play during the weekend, and then not for long as I have other things to do as well. Basically I can forget about ever getting a 20 slot equipment bag as I will be playing GW2 long before I have the required coins.

It was my understanding that the equipment pack would not have anything to do with the storage bags and belt pouches, and rather, would be an extra item screen to store armor and weapons. That way you could switch into a whole new set of armor instantly (or weapon set) and not have to fear the merchant.
All they did was give us some extra inventory space.
woo >_>

Really, most people won't need anything more than the 5-slot bag (ie, to keep a spare set for PvP, or to keep a couple of helmets & weapons around for when they change their build's main attribute; especially Warriors - having those 5 slots to carry around the two of axe/sword/hammer you're not currently using, plus a runed helmet for them, is well worth the 2.5p, or doing the pre-Searing quest for it ), and 2.5p is nothing by the time you reach the point where having armor/weapon changes become viable.
Of course, there are some exceptions, such as the seemingly crazy-prepared faraaz, but most people who need 10-20 extra armor/weapon storage slots are farmers. And having them complain about grind...

- I asked Linsey and she said they initially tried to make the quests account-based but ran into too many issues, so this is what we are stuck with.
- The time/effort (including organizaiton) vs reward of doing any of the pvp modes so far pales compared to running Molotov and BWB HM on several characters. Unless you are a top guild, hitting the bonus conditions on more than one character is a serious pain.

Every pvp-ready character needs at least 8 shields, in addition to 2-3 equipment swaps per attribute, and at least 5 extra armor pieces with runing but probably more. If you want to PvE "optimally" then you need all that stuff too.

No, thank you. If you don't want to do it on more than one character, don't do it on more than one character; you've lived without the equipment packs for this long, the world won't end if it takes a bit longer. Some of us like being able to do the quests on multiple. It provides a fun incentive to play something other than our current titler. Blacktide Den took 20, maybe 25 minutes (I'm wondering if the people saying it takes an hour were holding a tea party in there or something), Molotov under 10. Even a casual player might want to do more zquesting than that in a day. Yesterday was the first time since I started playing again that I actually dusted off my ritualist and mesmer.

Storage and market are two of the most pressing issues in GW.
You can't add a feature to store more items, and make it so once you get it, GW2 goes out.
On top of that, they are separate 5, 10, 15 and 20 bags. So people will just buy the 5 slots ba, and then go directly to the 20 slots bags.
Why to add the 10 and 15 bags then?
The bigger bags should be replaced with runes that increase each size to the next one.
And, of course, their prices should be reduced from gold to silver, and, even better, makeing them available in other places.
Those in Zaishen collectors should be A way so PvP-only players can get them without gold, not THE way to get them.

I only really need one 20 pack for my main since he is the only one with 1 (maybe another on on the way) extra set of armor and the most weapons...
The rest could make do with a 10 pack, but its still around 20 gold coins that I need to get =/. I would rather them sell the coins. It seems that each bronze coin = 10g silver coin = 500g and gold coin = 5k

It would have been wiser to just make the equipment packs a gold sink rather than a huge time sink.
Because Anet, I have a job (that allows me to pay the internet bills just to play GW) and obligations that do not give me the luxury of being able to dedicate my time soley to these Zaishen Missions/Quests/Bounties. I might as well write off the rest of the game if I even want to see one equipment pack on any of my characters in the near future.

The only PvP I do are JQ and FA and random arena's. Considering that I will miss out on the big points. I dont do AB because AB is pretty much dominated by luxons and I just dont play both sides. Not my style. Which means that as a pve player, who really needs those bags I need over 2 months to get the gold coins needed for a heavy equipment bag as I said earlier...again EPIC FAIL.

Yeah, I was hoping they'd be available for sale right away, and the zcoins would be about some functionless vanity feature. Things like these bags and the stylist were opportunities for some big gold sinks.

The 20 slot costs the most in terms of coins per slot too. This doesn't really surprise me since A-Net's concept of content is basically new things to grind...
The best part of this update has been Nicholas the Traveler... at least he has some sort of story and gives you new stuff without requiring a massive investment of time.

2. Due to the 2. Increase Rewards by like 10-20 %
3. Forgot about that one, gonna check my previous posts
That will made everything fine. People interested in doing zqeusts for a good reward won't needed to repeat it on their all characters. Everyone will get good reward.
|
1. is the most ridiculous suggestion. You already dont need to do any of the quests, it is your choice. Limiting the zquests to only accounts would make the already staggering grind for an equipment pack even worse!
Think about it, 20% increase is still less than 100% increase, so as long as I have more than 1 character, your suggestion would make the zcoins grind worse. Since I have 8 characters, the reward needs to be 700% higher so I can just do it once instead of 8 times.

This problem occurs when you don't have 2 items equipped in ALL your weapon slots. So when you swap from a 1-hand weapon & offhand/shield combo to a 2-handed weapon, the 1-hand weapon or the offhand gets put at the top of your inventory.
Solution: Make sure you equip a shield/offhand in ALL weapon slots, including with your two-handed weapons. This also gives you an extra slot in your inventory.

I second this. I have more money in-game than time to play (and not even that much money, although I am finding some more efficient farms on occasion), and I am already spending a couple hours a night, a few nights a week working on farming titles. Now if I want to get this for my main, I need to spend a third of my gaming time for the next few months doing these?
Perhaps we need to get the guys at ANet girlfriends. Then they will understand why grind is bad.

Ohhhhhh... lol. That makes so much sense. TY for that, I'm gonna go try it.
But still, it really is just extra storage. The limitation for only equipment is kind of dumb since the only time you have storage problems is when you have 20+ UNIDs, anyway. It doesn't function differently at all from regular packs.

Seeing people PUGing again was very nice and I hope we, collectively, are all going to have more fun, and PvP will have its fair share.
You may get the bad very, very soon, if you're ready to pay for it. Yesterday night someone was already selling an everlasting crate, which requires 50 gold zoins! I initially thought it'd be akin to grind, but it's not if you get good fun playing.
|
Well, rarely play AB so it may have been bad luck today.
However, the Everlasting Crate does not come from Zaishen Coins only. Apparently it comes from the traveller's gifts...for those few lucky ones that is, so I doubt they got the 50 gold coins together.
